Day 4: Culloden

The Battle of Culloden was fought in 1746 as part of the Jacobite Rebellion.  Bonnie Prince Charlie tried to claim the throne to reverse the previous overthrow of the Catholic James II in the Glorious Revolution of 1688.

It was the final battle in the campaign.  Bonnie Prince Charlie fled to Skye and thence to France where he lived out the rest of his days in exile.

The British then worked to subjugate the Scots in brutal fashion and all resistance ended.
